Cookie Policy

Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains what HarnessHive (HarnessHive ApS, a Danish company (CVR 46812549), Ræveskovsvej 20, 2820 Gentofte, Denmark) ("we", "us", "our") stores on your device, and what it does not, when you visit our website at harnesshive.com ("Website") and when you use the HarnessHive application at app.harnesshive.com ("the Service"). It works alongside our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or device when you visit a website or use a web application. Where we say "cookies" in this policy we also mean similar storage such as local storage and session storage, and tags or pixels.
The Website sets no cookies
The marketing website is a static site. It sets no cookies, writes nothing to local or session storage, and loads no scripts or fonts from third-party domains. That is why you see no cookie banner here: there is nothing to consent to.
We do count visits. Our analytics provider, PostHog, runs in a cookieless mode: the browser stores nothing, and visits are counted on PostHog's servers in the European Union using a privacy-preserving hash of your IP address and browser that does not survive the day, so one visit cannot be linked to the next and no profile of you is ever created. Requests go to our own domain (i.harnesshive.com), not to a third party. We honour the "Do Not Track" browser setting: with it on, nothing is sent at all. Our Privacy Policy describes this processing and its legal basis.
The only cookies you may see on harnesshive.com are set by Cloudflare, which serves the site: they are used for security and to tell legitimate traffic from attacks, contain no personal information, and are strictly necessary to deliver the site.
Cookies in the Service
The application is different: you sign in, so it has to remember you. Inside the Service we use:
Strictly necessary — the session cookie that keeps you signed in (hh_session) and the local storage that holds your editor settings such as theme and panel layout, and your analytics choice. These cannot be switched off; the Service does not work without them.
Product analytics (only with your consent). If you agree, PostHog stores an identifier in local storage and a cookie so that we can understand how signed in users work with the editor and improve it. If you do not agree, PostHog is not activated in the Service and nothing is stored for it. Session recordings are not used. Error reports are separate and use no cookie or storage: when something in the editor fails, a short technical report goes to our servers whether or not you agreed, as described in the Privacy Policy. This is described in the Privacy Policy under product analytics.
Payments — Polar, our merchant of record, may set cookies on its own pages during checkout and subscription management, governed by Polar's own cookie and privacy terms.
Email — our newsletter and transactional emails (sent through Resend) may contain tracked links or a pixel that measures deliveries and opens. These operate inside the emails we send, not on the Website; the unsubscribe link in any email ends it.
Your choices
On the Website there is nothing to choose: nothing is stored. Turning on "Do Not Track" in your browser stops the cookieless counting as well. In the Service we ask whether you allow product analytics when you sign up, and you can change your choice at any time in your account settings. Withdrawing consent stops the analytics from then on. You can also clear or block cookies and site data in your browser at any time; if you block the session cookie you will be signed out. For more on managing cookies, see your browser's help pages (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge each provide cookie controls).
Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes we will revise the "last updated" date above. Please revisit this policy regularly.
